Hmmm, An N52 2.5si is a fair match for it tbh.

I tested a 2.5si when i was looking for mine, then drove a 3.0i 2 days later but could still compare how they pulled in 2nd and 3rd. The 3.0i just did it better imo and miles better also than a 2.5i.
The thing that really put me off an N52 was the lack of a dipstick.
That's a latent anxiety you can't live if you're ocd.

The N52 certainly seems to need revving whereas the M54 has more low end grunt.Chris_D wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 8:42 pmI tested a 2.5si when i was looking for mine, then drove a 3.0i 2 days later but could still compare how they pulled in 2nd and 3rd. Thank you.
Kind of a double edges sword though isn't it?
Why have I garnered this many posts when I could have been out there driving the damn things?
However, I'd like to think around 10% of my input has been vaguely helpful.
Plus 10% sad Dad jokes and 80% the usual banter.

I am selling my 3.0 SE 2003, leather memory seats, relocated roof motor, grey, 137k, FSH. Comes with Revo Rack and stormshield cover. There are 2 minor paint imperfections but nothing terrible for the age (bird poo mark, small area of dull lacquer on rear quarter, no dents). Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics all round. 7mm front, 5mm back. I have had the car 3 years and done 10k in that time, including a run to the south of France.
In my time I have replaced the radiator, rear brake lines, roof wiring loom and rear discs/pads. Last serviced 1k ago and MOT to Sept 23. Comes with private plate. £3600.
