You don’t need the special Bmw tyres, most choose xl tyres as the reinforced sidewall gives more positive handling

As Rob says, star marked are just 'approved' by BMW, so should only be an issue if the car is under warranty and a claim is made.
Extra Load (XL) should be fitted if the car was designed for them. Yours was. Most bigger sizes are XL anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem finding them.

As others have said often BMW E89 OE sized tyres usually come only with one load rating..
