Switching to non runflats on my E89

Do I need reinforced "XL" rated?
Do I need BMW "*" fitting?

You don’t need the special Bmw tyres, most choose xl tyres as the reinforced sidewall gives more positive handling

As Rob says, star marked are just 'approved' by BMW, so should only be an issue if the car is under warranty and a claim is made.

Extra Load (XL) should be fitted if the car was designed for them. Yours was. Most bigger sizes are XL anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem finding them.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

No and no..

As others have said often BMW E89 OE sized tyres usually come only with one load rating..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..
