wow the mk1 golf brings back some amazing memories, I had about 6 GTI's in total one after the other, loved each one, such a great drive, fantastic handling, but awful brakes.

Brakes designed for proper lhd cars, so the rhd versions have linkage.

Have had this Golf since it was 3 years old, lovely. Except no power steering :D

I made a huge mistake when I sold my last Mk1 Gti to upgrade to the MK4 Gti (turned out to be a huge downgrade). Yes, it had all the mod cons, but that novelty soon dipped. That buzz when you turned the key in the Mk1 was probably like a drug, heightening your senses, dilating your pupils, raising the hairs at the back of your neck.
No power steering, no electric windows, no heated seats, no climate control or aircon, manual slide only sunroof. I don't care It will always be the favourite car I've owned. :driving:

And people let you out of side streets

Mine has the electric roof and windows, hydraulics work fine after 30 years as well. Good thing is that 60 mph feels like 200 so you are never going too fast.

Thanks, that was my second project. First one was my double garage:

The second quad garage took me over a year to finish

This holiday I am working on the final garage turning that into a detailing room. It is my mental resting :)

The toys, need a few more garages now. Don't have any gratuitous photos of the daily mobiles.

As one comes back from paint looking like new, another one off for some TLC. GTR's and hotel car parks rarely mix, stupid of me to even think that heffer of a car would fit.

Unfortunately dry carbon and easy repairs don't go hand in hand but on the flip side it's been sorted by the chap that has been head of Mercedes AMG F1 carbon gearbox casing program for the past 6 years. It has a full dry carbon roof as well as multiple other lightweight carbon parts, finally they'll all match the satin carbon finish. Carbon parts originally produced by CCS (also AMG F1 supplier) as a favour to the CEO of MV Augusta who was the first owner before me. 1200bhp of pure engineering magic and still my favourite.

The final addition for a long time as the missus has decided we need to have kids :(

I would have loved a Huracan Technica but never satisfied with the limited vision with the letterbox view out. Also at almost half the price these are a bargain compared to the latest Huracan. It's a much better all round drive than the 610-4 Huracan IMO. I will be using this as a daily drive while retiring the Cayman from daily duties.

6k miles and all the options, rare extended fuel tank, laser lights, carbon engine bay and illuminated carbon door sills. Pre OPF filter was a must as they took out the manual exhaust valve override on the last R8 models. Picking it up Saturday.
