Wanted : face-lift white indicator headlights

Post by Madcatgrafix » Tue Nov 29, 2022 1:23 am

I'm looking a pair of face-lift e86 white indicator halogen headlights, as loosing the will to live, with my leaky xenon orange indicator lights.

Must have :
1. All locating tabs still attached, and led dip / full beam, would be a big bonus.
2. Bone dry, well sealed, with no condensation/ discolouring inside the lens.
3. Be willing to post to BT42 (Northern Ireland).

Will pay more for mint, led dip / headlight / halo upgrades.

Thanks, Mike.

FYI the wiring from pre facelift to post facelift xenon is different...
Halogen is plug and play, but not the case with xenon unfortunately. IMO you'll need to cut and shut, creating a frankenstein headlight set. Using whichever bits you want/need, plus the clear "hockey stick" from the facelift era.

Thanks Kis, for the link info. Yea, I've read there's a wiring difference from prefacelift xenon to facelift halogen, but seems to be the least expensive way (by a considerable margin), to get new lights. I'm trying 1 more time, to reseal the drivers xenon tmor, and then I'll go for the excite halo option. I'm sure someone has done the wiring conversion already.

Cheers@ jock. Was just looking at those, but the wiring conversion was my vconcern, before I pull the trigger.

Have you removed the headlight? I've found headlights do get quite brittle. Also the retaining bar for the headlight cover can crack. So this could be creating an imperfect seal.

Assuming you don't have any physical holes as well

Thanks Kis. Yea. I pulled out the driver headlight, and gave it a close inspection. No cracks / holes. I put silicone sealant inside the seal channel, let it set 15 min, then put the seal in, and a light smear on the headlight body side. Seems to be alit better, but still some light condensation, when raining directly on the light, that doesn't appear, on the passenger one.

Have bought a pair of new excite ones, and will just fit led dip and full beam units, and move on hmmmm
