Blocked washer nozzles

Post by tonyg » Thu Dec 01, 2022 11:26 pm

My 2015 E89. Not sure if my E89 washer nozzles are blocked. Can I just use a pin to try to unlock?
Thank you.

Blocked washer nozzles

You could try, but IME it's usually the pump filters blocked with algae. OE BMW screen-wash doesn't seem to mix with any other brand and then the filters get blocked by gunge.

I've had to remove the reservoir for a flush and the pump filters for a clean with a toothbrush on an E46 3 Series and an E86 Z4 which is an easy job as the reservoirs are under the bonnet.

Sadly I think the reservoir on the E89 is in the driver's side front wing behind the wheel-arch liner!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

E89 washer reservoir is in an easily accessible place in front of front engine bulkhead on driver side next to brake cylinder reservoir

Look in the reservoir bottom to see if there is a jelly like gunge in the bottom…for reasons stated..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..
