Nice one Ben, I noticed you had nabbed these on the forum! Is your M54 a non-si, I cannot remember how these work, I know you had put reokacement M Sport seats into the Coupe I came to look at, a nice and in my view essential touch for that really sporty feel!
Cheers Scott
M54 is the 6-cyl engine in the pre-facelift cars - 2.2i, 2.5i & 3.0i. Mine is a 3.0i
N52 is the 6-cyl engine in the post facelift cars - 2.5i, 2.5Si & 3.0Si. Coupe is 3.0Si only

All came in SE trim or Sport trim, the latter with lowered sports suspension and M-Sport seats. My coupe was a SE, much improved by the addition of M-Sport seats, so I have done the same with the roadster which is also an SE, but ironically it was specified with sport suspension (unless all three litres came like that :? ).

Excellent having the sports suspension on the rag top, as I recall the Coupe is best in SE trim with a very stiff bodyshell.

I am still on the lookout for a clean pair of MV2's with some decent Michelin Sport asymmetric 18" tyres to replace these horrific run-flats which almost bounce you off the road at speed on undulations and bumps! Any suggestions anyone?

Cured the creaking drivers side suspension by applying some lubricant to the top mount bearing - creak gone!
this morning, the steering wheel started to click when just off TDC - seems like i need to remove the bottom cowl and apply some grease/lubrication to the left hand stalk.

Can i just have one day without something new to fix please? :)

Mine does that, like the indicator cancellation click. Let me know whether your “fix” fixes it.

Hi, I am encountering a suspension 'creak' when I exit the drivers side, presumably as my 'load' is releasing from the rear, and it sounds like my back joints on a bad day :? Do you have ang pictures of what you 'oiled', I understand about the mention of a top mount plate, attached by three bolts into the body mounting point? Thanks. Also what lubricant did you use, was it a silicon grease?

Hi Scott,

The cover shown in the image below - it just prises off with a flat blade screw driver and you can then see the bearing below - i used a few squirts of GT85 to help it along, grease may be a better long term solution, took a short drive to work its way around and stopped the creaking sound. I also made sure my strut braces were really, really tight too

Removed GM5 module and sent it away for repair, hopefully it doesn't get caught up in the RM strikes

Just pulled out the kidney grills, one cracked and displaced backward, both uncared for! Seems that when the front end was shunted into a post leaving a dent inbetween both kidney grills this dislodged the frame and the kidney grills have been pushed back so have just got around to remedying this with two newly acquired kidney grills, in silver and chrome. Got both pulled out quite easily with a firm tug, and managed to replace the inside plastic frame forwards so this is now firmly held, got that kidney grill in and with hand behind managed to get that grill with frame locked in. The second one then pushed in and locked and hey presto! Another small job completed on restoring this 33,000 mile 07 2.5si beaut Am beginning to enjoy this car now!

Am picking up another front bumper very shortly so it will be nice to get a car with no dinks or bangs anywhere on the body, just rubbing marks (minor) on rear bumper, and will see how clean the 'new' bumper is, guess I may be getting both bumpers resprayed. :D
