I changed mine to systems analyst instead of company director and my wife changed from company director to company secretary. Strange how that changes the premium so much.
Yes you can as company director isn't really a job so you can always change it to what you actually do.

I was a commercial finance broker operating through my own company but changed it to retired (which basically I am even though the company is still active) and my premiums dropped

Surveyer is in the risky job business as per the high premium insurance categories. Guess they drive to risky sites and park in odd places sometimes. Have a look at that list of high premium and low premium jobs to see which one really matches best
