107 vs 202?

Post by K3P0 » Tue Apr 28, 2015 1:17 pm

Guys, does anyone know the difference between the 18 inch 107 and the 202 wheel?

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31658

Is it Country specific?

Does this help - you can see the difference if you look at both images together

It's a face lift thing, 202's from 2006 onwards. A lot rarer than 107's

If it becomes a choice I would have 202. More of a modern look

107's are top, 202's are bottom.

When you look at them together, the differences are obvious. Those pics above do them no favours.

They look the same to me other than colour !! Thanks for the replies chaps. I do actually really like the 107s. Did they only come on the 3.0 model or were they an option available for all engines?

Prefer the 107s. Original design office choice and purist option

107 holes appear to be further out towards the edge of the rim. If you don't know it's hard to spot the difference.

You can also see there's a bigger distance between the wheel bolts and the circles on the 107s.

107s have less angular cuts for the spokes meeting the rim and the wheel bolt holes on 202s are concave not convex. To me 107s are perfect and the 202s are fussy (biased I know as I have 107s) 107s were designed along side the z4 and as such are designed to complement its style!

For what my opinion is worth I prefer the 202, though from some angles I am not sure I like these styles. Square on they look great.

Somehow I'd missed this thread.
Good comparison of the two and have to say that I do quite like the 202s.
Picking up my new car with those on Friday morning.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Both have more or less the same 'shape' but the 107 is flatter on its front face, especially around the wheel nuts/centre cap. The 202 is more sculpted and angled, not flat around the wheel nuts and the 5 small alignment holes are more visible than on the 107. I like both wheels but the 107 just edges it for me. However, I saw a photo years ago of forum member Rookie975's Sterling Grey car with graphite 202s that I thought looked just superb !
