Hi,
I believe i've got a common oil leak around the rocker cover, and oil filter housing. I've attached some images to this thread. Planning on buying these from ebay.

Only asked as all the how to tutorials say to remove the radiator fan, but when my son did mine he managed to get the oil filter house off without, which saved a bit of extra work and time.
From memory I think he used a 10mm ring spanner on the “star” head bolts as access with a socket is limited.
Also with the rocker cover he had to loosen the injector clamps to give a bit of wiggle room to get the cover off.

I believe BMW use elring Gaskets, but for something like this I would personally buy them from a BMW dealer. The last thing you want to do is replace the gaskets and find they still leak due to poor fitting gaskets.Dylan R. Fisher wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 5:20 pm Hi,

Maybe get a quote from BMW it shouldn't be too bad.

What if cam cover is distorted.
I wouldn't mess about, change the cam cover with gaskets.
