Clown nose, of all things

Hi all,

Anyone got a share clown nose (aka rear view mirror LED cover) kicking around? It's a bit of a long shot but mine is missing it (it was missing the led too until I soldered a new one in) and it looks silly without.

I remember they were contentious when first introduced but I didn't think anyone actively removed them! I don't even mind if it's a straight red one from an E46.

I am not sure they are removable…? You would probably be better just buying a complete 2nd hand mirror from eBay.

Well mine's certainly been removed!

I was just trying to avoid stomping up a tenner for a whole mirror and thought I'd see if anyone had done a nosectomy or had a knackered mirror kicking around first.

Mine didn't have one either. The Z4 ones are a translucent grey colour FYI. The red e46 ones won't fit as I've already tried that too.

Not sure when, but stumbled across a breaker and took the nose from that. So make sure you get a Z4 one to ensure it fits.

I’ve got two rear view mirrors off previous breakers. I even checked you can take them off (which you can). I didn’t post earlier as it leaves me with a dead mirror.

If there’s any other bits you need drop me a note and we can see if we can work something out.

I'm amazed the E46 and e85 are different (bar the colour); I'm sure the mirrors are otherwise the same.

Thanks for the pics Street. If you ever go to junk the mirrors I'll buy a nose!

He doesn't want to pay a tenner for the whole thing so I can't see a fiver for the dome being a winner!

Au contraire, mon ami, I think it's a most generous offer. It's one of those silly things where it doesn't bug me enough to spend good drinking money on car stuff!

Chris (Street) wins several prizes for helping me out and now I have a pristine cover so my car can look more clowny! Or whatever something with a grey nose might be!

Now just have to find the time to fit it. Might put up a wanted for some of that!!
