Maybe the ones with the slightly off fit aren’t oem products? I know a third party also made these
Rob
As far as I know the only non oem ones ever manufactured were in the last year or so weren't they? Skyer or something? There was never a market before 2017 as they were only £350 from bmw or less.
Mr Tidy says he bought his in 2020 second hand so must be older. Can you put a photo up of your fitment mr tidy?
I bought mine from Darren Slone.

But don't have a close-up photo - these are the best I have for now.

Z4C Aero side skirt fitment issue

I have a 07MC, purchased my aero skirts from the dealer in 2012. The rear wheel well fits perfectly, the front is ~2mm shorter, which is exactly the same as the stock skirts so I never gave it a second thought. I'll grab a pic the next time I'm out with the car.
Yours are way shorter than mine so I can understand your concern. Can you loosen the screws and slide them forward any, all the clips are in slots so they may move a little?
Have your fenders ever been off the car?

There were fitment issues with the OE skirts too, back in the day, referenced to on this board, and on Zpost the US forum. You will have to do a deep dig, its back a while.
On the OP's query I'd suggest the wings may have been removed and refitted or certainly disturbed at some time. All the skirts are the same length whether the aero or non aero. Referring to the OE parts.
The skyer skirts are a good fitment too, ask me how we know. However over time previous owners may have sustained accident damage to wings front or rear, no two cars will ever be the same now, 14 plus years from manufacture. Its just question of jiggling around with things underneath, and it will involve quite a bit of patience, and time :)

If it was panel gaps etc, surely the original one would also be a bad fit.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Somewhere, there were several vigorous posts back around 2010 2012 time discussing fitment issues.
Sadly no two cars are exactly the same

Mine are ever so slightly out of line as well - noticed it years ago and now just ignore it. They are definitely OEM aeros bought direct from BMW & fitted by PVR when he owned the car.

Blame srhutch - I was mostly on the phone with Russia trying to avoid a war. If I had known then what I know now I would have put some more bugs in the software and kill a few :D

When I said 'fitted by PVR' I meant in a directorial sense. Everyone who has been on here more than 7 years knows you rarely actually do anything yourself
