Top hifi mid speaker upgrade?

Post by Robster68 » Tue Sep 27, 2022 5:35 pm

So I’m playing with radio settings and noticed when bass is turned up r/h mid is crackling,so i remove door card and the mid speaker magnet falls out the bottom of the door.
Is this worth an upgrade or replace with oem speaker?
I’m not an Audio guy so am not looking for perfection.

Looked on eBay top hifi speakers are around £30 each s/h plus postage,I’m not sure how much they are new about €80 I presume, will price up tomorrow at dealers.
I don’t mind replacing both with aftermarket if anyones got any recommendations.

It is worth upgrading. I did listening comparisons when upgrading all of my speakers and all the OEM speakers are easily bested in sound quality.

In order of biggest to smallest improvements: Rear subs, tweeters, floor woofers, door midrange.

You will have to come up with a mounting solution when buying non OEM of course - unless you buy Bavsound kit (but its expensive)

I’ve seen the bavsound videos on YouTube which are really good explaining how to strip the door down and will consider their stuff in the future and will do the sound deadening at the same time but im happy for now with the top hifi system, upgrading my garage with new air compressor/sandblaster is next. 👍
