X1 feedback please

Post by Oilyfingers » Mon Sep 26, 2022 1:44 pm

Hi everybody
We are considering to buy a new used car for mrs Oilyfingers and have found a low mileage 2019 X1 (F48LCI).
I would appreciate any feedback on these cars as it will be our first SUV.
Any specific weak points to look out for?

I have a set of 17" wheels with wintertyres for my E89. Will they fit the X1 ?

Sorry I don't know anything about X1s but it might help to say what engine it has.

If your E89 wheels are OE 17s they will have be ET29 and a quick look on a wheel website suggests a 2019 X1 with 17s would be ET52 so your E89 wheels would sit 23mm further out which may well cause clearance issues!
Coupes because stunning!

No is the simple answer , the wheel PCD are different so no matter the width or offset the 5 x 120 off your E89 won't fit , need to be 5 x 112

Thanks Gents  ,
Good to know the wheels will not fit although this will mean some extra €€'s
The X1 we are considering is a 2.0i sDrive xLine with Msport seats.

I would also try asking the same question in the XSeries forum, there is a link at the bottom of our main forum page.

When the dealer cocked up with my new X3 they had to give me a car as I had sold my car privately, they sorted me a X1 which I had for two weeks.

It was a month old with 800 miles on it. I have to say it was a lot better than I thought it would be 2.0 d x drive M Sport in a lovely metallic white, with run flats. We did neigh on 1500 miles in the two weeks with a run up to Harrogate then Whitby (we live in Staffordshire) the only minus with the car was the road noise from the tyres, it was horrendous something continually bought up on road tests by magazine reviews, not sure if it’s the run flats. It’s nice inside with good kit if a bit plasticity. Would I buy one for the wife to use round town, yes I would. Hope it helps

PS The car we had was a 21 plate

Thanx Hilly , much appreciated

In the meantime I also had a look at various X fora including the one suggested by Boris.
So far I have not heard any major negatives
