Wanted - winter tyres with wheels

Post by tonyg » Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:20 pm

Wanted! Looking into the possibility of buying winter tyres (with wheels) for my 2015 E89 M performance - (my current summer tyres are on 19 inch wheels.) They must be in great condition - perfect condition or very near to perfect!

I'd consider the standard wheels that seem to be used a lot for winter tyres (is it style 290?) though I think I'm veering towards something nicer like R107 Split Rim 108s. I will look over the next few days to check out other wheel styles. Silver colour preferred I think.

I'll be honest, they need to be great value and superb condition as there's some on ebay and on FB that I'm interested in but I have plenty of time to decide what I want. I'm based near Hertford, but they'll likely need posting.

Feel free to direct message me. Also any other suggestions from anyone else would be great.

Thanks as always for any help.

Tony

So for those struggling to digest the bullet points are

Must be unmarked , perfect or very near .
Must be great value .
Ideally Style 108 ? ( fitment not suitable for E89 without spacers & even then will look like wellies on a vicar )
You anticipate they will need posting

:dizzy:

i would allow a reasonable time for anyone to respond ( 6 months ? ) :silence: or  why not buy the FB alternatives

I’m really sorry, I’m quite new to all this, I didn’t mean to upset anyone. But I’m genuinely not sure what I’ve said to annoy anyone. Happy to delete if there’s anything inappropriate?

No one’s annoyed, just bemused.

108s don’t make a good winter wheel on a E85, and on an E89 they won’t look great either.

Be prepared to pay for near perfect + postage, you’re unlikely to find that a good value prospect.

Good luck with your search though.

Sorry , my apologies , i wasnt annoyed & doubt anyone else will be but your wishlist is a mixed one .
Best advice i could give you is stick with the fitment numbers for E89s & if you find anything that appeals to you just buy them .

Thanks guys.
I had no ideas that the 108s wouldn't fit - I do really like the look of them (though I've never seen them in real life) but I will take everyone's advice that they won't look good on an E89.
I'm not sure what wheels will fit the E89 (or for that matter look good) if I'm going to buy a new set of wheels for the winter tyres. I'm not sure what fitment numbers are!
Best regards, Tony

I am running a clean set of 17" Style 290s on my 3 Series with Bridgestone run-flats (not winters) that I'll be posting for sale when I put winters on it in a month or two - depending on the weather.

But I won't be getting involved in the grief of posting or packing them!
Coupes because stunning!
