Z4 Coupe with pre facelift rear light's?

Post by DutchCoupe » Mon Sep 19, 2022 7:07 pm

I have maybe a strange question.

Is it possible to mount the old pre facelift Z4 rear light's in an Z4 Coupe.

I like the look of the prototype Z4 Coupe rear-lights

So now I saw these pre face-lift rear-lights.
I think they look sweet in a Z4 Coupe.
But will it fit?

I believe they will only fit if you also fit a pre-facelift rear bumper?

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Can be done. Mine is a pre-facelift but ran a M rear for a while.
Small triangle left visible rather than a really clean bodyline. Looks fine tho... not a coupe, but you get the idea :)

Nice, did you ever consider de-French frying as well - they just pop out

Thank you for the picture. I have to think what I want to do. I also like the M bumper a lot.
Maybe do it once bumper + lights, but it also requires a fat wallet :-)

Nah I've gone full on darkside now. I've got facelift rear lights and a stock facelift bumper.

Welcome! Not that expensive really. You just need the old lights, which can be had for peanuts. Then you need to change the voltage (the lights between facelift and pre-facelift are a little different). You don't need to change your bumper at all.

I understand but my OCD does not handle this now I know there is a small gap. I'm a stickler on details 🤣

Can always try it with just the pre facelift lights. See if you really do like them (the lights). Then go the whole hog if you do (and get a bumper to match).

Worth thinking about... :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

Get a body shop to fill and square up the triangle gap then get it painted.
