That is another worry that has put me off up to now TBH. Not so much boredom but it becoming a chore rather than fun or getting to a point where the talent, or the money, runs out.
I also don't have anybody local who can help out with two-handed jobs; all my friends live miles away.

If I do it, I will do a good one. I wouldn't want to spend that much time and effort and scrimp on spec or quality.

I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

The whole point is the building, though, Ron. AK (and the others) will sell me a 'rolling car' where a lot of the mechanical work is done but that defeats the object for me. I want to have the satisfaction of building a car, not finish one. :)

Going to speak to the factory tomorrow to touch base after 4 years. Lead time for a chassis is around 4 months apparently. :o

Indeed Ron. I can't keep waiting for the 'right time', as it will never be! :)

From my own experience, you have more time, money and experience to devote to a project such as this - then realise that you aren’t quite fit enough any more!

Do it now but eyes wide open.

Totally agree with the above, just be prepared to spend the next six months stuck in the garage and away from the wife.
I’d pay more than that to have 6 months away from the Mrs!

So I have spent a lot of time researching these, again.
I have been totting up the cost of building one from scratch and lost count at around £55,000. :o
So that ain't going to happen! I have found one that has been standing for many years after completion but the seller still wants big money even though it doesn't drive. I am looking at alternatives now.

I did suggest that route!
Providing the building has been completed to an acceptable standard that you can trust then it’s ok to go part built.
