Some insurers are more competitive than certain postcodes than others, so a company that's given someone else a great price for the exact same model may not be competitive for you, even if you are of a similar age.
Well yeah, it is a postcode lottery.

But quotes for my car in my postcode and my age. The quotes are all over the place.
Direct line last year were wanting just over £ 420.-- :o

Just been using the usual comparison sites and Carol Nash keeps coming up the cheapest but still £360 with a compulsory excess of £220 and £50 voluntarily.

Prices appear to have gone up but cheaper than my renewal quote with existing insurer which was £100 more

Just had my renewal notice from Carole Nash for their six wheeled policy (car & bike combined).
£357.27
Had hoped it would be a bit lower than that having turned 60 last year. :(

That sounds expensive, but it's been a while since I had a newish car!

Both of mine were cheaper than last year. :)

Either way I tried, via comparison sites or with companies direct, prices varied from £352 with Carole Nash to silly prices over £500.

Excuses were varied for the price rises but several said that they can no longer offer cheaper deals to new customers. They must offer the same deals to existing customers so they are now offering none. Wether true or not I don’t know but couldn’t get it cheaper anywhere. Would be interested if anyone else is insuring a newish G29.

My G29 is costing more to insure than my 718 Boxster did, I struggled to get a half decent quote. Full no claims, no points etc.
The Porsche was worth 15k more and was more powerful, makes no sense.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

It does seem very random, but maybe Caymans are involved in fewer accidents? :?

I'm surprised that my MC is costing less to insure than I was paying for my 3.0Si - not that I mind of course! :D

Mine is insured with BMW, no one else could compete when I bought the car new, this year it went up £1.23 a month, that’s the only thing I don’t like, I can’t pay premium in full, only option monthly DD but even then total DD payments still cheaper than one off payment through GoCompare etc

https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/owners/ ... e/car.html
Looks like they won’t insure anything modified, and my ///M would also need a tracker.

Just tried my five series and they want £840 per year

I insured all five cars we have for lees than that last year with Admiral.

Just paid an annual premium of £352 with Carole Nash. Monthly DD cost an additional £50.

Went via the Go compare site and got a £3 voucher for Costa coffee just for getting a quote then another £20 Halfords voucher for signing up. Good cover with £220 compulsory excess (They all have about the same).
