front axle noise

Post by olive » Mon Aug 29, 2022 9:57 pm

Hello z4 team,

i discover my z4 and detect a squeak or creaking when we push on the front of the car
it's difficult to locate the place where the noise is
I suppose the silent block sway bar not the shock absorber

Do you know this problem ?

Thanks a lot

Problem solved...............don't push down on the car.

Serious though in warm weather the front of my car creeks as i go over speed bumps, even though i fitted all new suspension arms and bushes.
OK on the straight or lumps in the road. I just live with it now.

front axle noise

I previously had a Boxster and this is a common complaint - I was advised to get some silicon spray (halfords) and liberally spray all mounts/ bushes - anything rubber!!! - worked a treat.
first thing I did when I got the Z was to do the same and never hear any squeaks!!!!

I remember when I was a lad, my Dad had a Ford Cortina that did exactly the same. He worked out it was the ARB twisting in the bushes.
Bit of silicon spray used to fix it for about a year or so.
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!
