Z4 vanos removal

Post by Robster68 » Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:45 pm

Seriously, how much of a pain in the arse was that, payback I suppose for having the best looking affordable bmw available.Luckily I’m doing water pump and thermostat at the same time.Removing half the front of the car is no fun.

Z4 vanos removal

Oh I believe you're milking it sir! :D
It's a straightforward spannering job really. Nothing complicated, just time consuming.
Something to be pleased that you've achieved yourself at least.
And a couple of hundred miles from now, when you realise it's running smoother and possibly even getting an extra mile or two to the gallon, it'll seem even more worth it.
Not mentioned in your post, but I assume you will be fitting new belts while you're in there?

Milking it 🤣
More a case of being lulled into a false sense of security watching the same job on e46´s on YouTube 😉.
Service history tells me both belts were changed last year and it’s easy enough to do in my pit.
