wheels, headlamps. just for starters. so probably
None sports seats. So you would have to put a bit of effort in breaking it, I guess. Would not be worth that to most people.

That's mad those M54 engines are 10 to the penny. You could have that sorted in a day.

Scissor doors look aiight.
That's one for bigwinn/enuffzed or one of the other tinkerers on here.
Get on it you guys, let's see you tackle an engine/gearbox swap...?
I reckon it's been a 'showcar' at some point, and by 'showcar' I mean in the loosest possible sense a showcar; more a rev the arse out of it, doughnut and plumes of rear tyre smoke in the carpark surrounded by Darrens and Kevins sort of showcar and that's why it needs a new engine. He's taken it to the redline so many times it's given up.

I'll be watching that with interest. Perfect car to drop a B30 lump in.

Let’s see what it goes for. There may be some value at 1500 but it’s only had one bid so far. Bored out 2.2; why bother it’s blown anyway? It’s not run for 9 years, it’s going to be a bag of decay. I wouldn’t touch it, but I’ve seen the kind of crap that Joycey can bring back to life so maybe this is for him . Unfortunately, these older Zeds just aren’t worth very much at the moment, so probably parts it is.

That made me laugh way too much. This is the joy of running a unit along side having a normal job. The car stuff pays for the unit and tooling, means the hours we put into cars are effectively free. One resto left last week along with a 1 owner Z3 so I have room for another side projectZedebee wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 9:33 pm Let’s see what it goes for. Last MOT was 20 November 2013. 53,015 miles.
Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 5 October 2010
So the advert checks out.
Probably solid underneath and only needs an engine and the comedy doors dealt with.
Could be an easy profit or a half decent car.

The number plate and hardtop surely make it's money alone. If the wheels are genuine, a bonus.
Sod the engine, it also has SCISSOR DOORS, how cool is that?
Presume the pictures are from pre-2013. If so, easy get out on eBay as 'not as described' if not to one's liking

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Would be great if someone sorted the doors and put a crazy engine in it.
Someone in Eastern Europe put a V8 in one. Sounds and looks awesome!!

Stuart and I already discussed it. Not sure of his take on it, but for me it's completely the wrong time. Funds tied up in the 3.0i I'm rescuing.
My main issue is a gravel drive, which doesn't lend itself to manoeuvring an engine hoist. One day though...............

Now 2150 plus transport costs, 11 hours to go. The maths of recommissioning this car don’t really make sense to me. Surely a 2.2i with a transplanted 3.0i is worth considerably less than an original 3.0i and they are not exactly selling for strong money at the moment. Great if you want it as a keeper, but that’s not in the tinkerer mentality is it?.

I've seen people fit those door hinges before - going back to stock might not be very easy/impossible depending on how much surgery was required to to get the new ones to fit.
