Android based stereo installations

Hey all. I was thinking of buying a Joying unit like this one: https://www.joyingauto.eu/joying-new-6- ... tereo.html
For my Z4. I've used them before in my MR2. I was just wondering is the Z4 fairly plug and play and universal for aftermarket radios or are there convertors and special bits I need to source beforehand? Apart from the fascia plate. I'm assuming i'll lose all the controls for the navigation and so on. It has the flip up screen. Car is a Z4m coupe.

Cheers for the help.

all depends on what amp and what speaker setup you have.

upgrading the head unit on my DSP carver system cost me £2k and that's only using a £200 head unit and still using the stock speakers. so new amp, full re-wire and new crossovers was best part of £1500.

Please keep up updated if you have this installed. Looks like a huge upgrade over the stock radio.

I have the joying 10.25 installed and it’s a pretty much plug and play. It comes with the harness adapter you need. I bought mine mainly for the CarPlay functionality. Love it.

I’ll take some better pics later but these are a few after in installed.

The height of the screen can be adjusted so you can have more of the vents visible. For me I don’t really use the centre vents so the position of it suits me fine. I love the functionality of it.

Appreciate the offer Nick. I wasn't planning on going to be honest. I see you are based in Essex as well. Maybe we can do a local gathering before winter sets.

No worries. There are a few of us in Essex and we do meet fairly frequently.
