You must have a different E89 from mine, which has horrendous blind spots.SSF wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 8:48 pm Are you all trying to turn the appeal of this car into a disadvantage? The long bonnet is something that I adore about it. I understand it sometimes makes things a little more difficult, yet being so close to the back of the car creates other advantages (for example when backing out of somewhere).

easy question for E89 owners
Loads of bonnet that’s for sure.
Only downside we find is long nose coming up to junctions where visibility is bad.
Great car though even in the 2.0 form it’s still quick, ours is a 2016 model.

easy question for E89 owners
I just see it as "I've got such a big engine, I can't see anything from behind it"
But seriously, I have never had any problems with front visibility, probably because you usually drive forward, so have a lot of time to see the things that are in front before they get too close and disappear hidden by your bonnet. Coming out of junctions is a little challenging, indeed, but not that bad. Back visibily, on the other hand, is just excellent!

It is what it is.
Long bonnets look amazing, but is it the best driving position? Probably not.
The 911 is the way it is for a reason!
Personally I much prefer long bonnet cars, AMG GT, Z4 etc, but this is an emotional preference. If one were to be 100% scientific and want the best driving position, it would have to be a Porsche or a Range Rover.
Z4 has ok visibility, it’s something you get used to.
I love mine, and plan to keep it as long as I can!

The length of the bonnet on the 911 is governed, first of all, by the position of the engine.
I love how the car looks with its enormous bonnet, I think any shorter would be a loss for the looks of the car. Especilly since the weight distribution is 50-50 (at least on the ones with the 2 liter engine). It just makes sense any way I look at it.
