Got a large screw type bolt right in middle of tyre but managed to get home. Be lifted in morning courtesy of BMW assist. Question is will it be fit to be repaired. Only 6000 miles on tyres so fingers crossed.

Sounds like it should be repairable. :) Many on here carry a repair kit in the boot. I have repaired two punctures on my Z4 over the years. Takes less than an hour. Quicker and cheaper than waiting for the truck.

Hopefully it can be repaired otherwise you're going to end up with one new tyre and one 6,000 mile old one, which isn't ideal.

Being BMW at a minimum they will remove the tyre, inspect the inside for damage and then maybe do an internal vulcanised repair…

At 6,000 miles I’d be surprised if they repair it…

If they replace it they may replace the sister tyre…
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

BMW won’t repair it. They will insist on a new tyre.
If it’s as you describe it is 100% repairable and it’s what I did when it happened to me at 5,000 miles.

In that case I would bite the bullet and put a new one on the other side too. I have one front and one rear MPSS sat in the garage, from doing exactly this over the years. There is a reasonable chance you will get to use the stored tyre at some point, if similar happens again.
