3.0Si intake-side refresh

Post by Barty » Tue Aug 02, 2022 2:52 pm

As per the title, I’ll be doing a refresh of a few components on the intake-side of the engine shortly. Reason is the replacement of the PCV system. While at it, I’ve ordered the following components:

Intake manifold gaskets - Elring
Full PCV system - Febi Bilstein
Crankshaft sensor - Febi Bilstein
Starter motor - Denso (original BMW I believe?)
Oil filter housing gaskets - Elring
Oil filter - Original BMW part
Oil 5W30 - Castro Edge Titanium LL04

Would there be anything else you’d tackle while on the intake side of the engine? Exhaust side will follow in a month or so, and will include solenoids, cam shaft sensors, cam cover gasket, eccentric sensor, water pump and thermostat.

Thanks for any advice given!
Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...

Pretty comprehensive list.

A couple I'd mention if it's just a case of refreshing everything...

Throttle body gasket
DISA Valves (big and small) :)

Good call on the gasket. Didn’t think the DISA’s on the N52 often cause any issues? Then again, while at it…
