Tyre pressure

Post by IZB » Sun Jul 31, 2022 10:17 pm

have a 30i with 255/275 35 R19 Pilot Super Sports fitted. I’m unsure what pressure to set them at. I’ve been running them at 2.2 bar, but I’ve noticed there is an ‘eco’ value of 2.7 bar that’s listed as another option on the sticker, drivers inside door pillar

Tyre pressure

Post by Argyll Andy » Sun Jul 31, 2022 10:36 pm

I run my M40i at 2.2, that’s what the car was supplied with, and they’ve been great.you old try adding a few psi if you wanted but not sure why if you’re happy with how the car drives and the wear is even

The additional pressure may slightly improve fuel consumption hence the Eco tag

The idrive tells you the recommended tyre pressures depending on the weather. Very useful.

When the temperature is cold the pressure should be 2.3 according idrive.

    Tyre pressure

Ive always found that BMW official pressures are a couple of psi over inflated...

Ive had 3 BMW X5,s over the last 8 or so years and found the tyres wore out in the center, meaning over inflation.

So i usually run my cars slightly under manufacturers pressures.

    It works for me...

Those of you that have had a G29 for a few years how do you find the tyre wear / pressure ratio..??

As mentioned earlier, mine came with 2.2 all round, still got that, completely even wear and new set going on this week so no issue with the recommended pressures
