Still brilliant after a year and 9,000 miles. I know the 35is is not perfect, especially if you're used to sharper performance cars, but it always feels like an event to drive or even just to look at.

It is a beautiful colour, especially in the sun, but I did get a bit of orange envy when I saw an X5M in a brighter looking orange recently...

Not been on here much due to new job and relocation, but the Z is now safely in her new home.

I had a misfire issue last week, driving up the M4 to Bath, pushing the car quite hard and probably going too fast, limped the rest of the way there, read the codes and it was cylinder 3 (same as last time when I had oil leak or spillage and replaced coil 3 and all spark plugs). Ordered 2 spare coils to pick up on the way home the next day, but when I started the car in the morning all was well, misfire gone and no CEL. No issues since.

Unfortunately I didn't have MHD logging running at the time, but I'm hoping one of the N54 gurus might be able to help. I'm on MHD Stage 1 V9 with 1 step colder spark plugs that have done maybe 5k max.

Is it worth moving to V10? The torque results seem much higher and so far I've been reluctant to put more strain on the gearbox.

V10 is a lot better than V9 in many ways…

If you have a DCT then xHP is recommended…

The clutch will be the limiting issue on a manual…
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Latest pointless badge w@nker fun...

Genuine "turbo" badge from a 1979's BMW 2002 Turbo. Not ideal trying to curve the metal to fit the back of the E89, and having to cut off the screws.

Might not look level in the photos due to the curved boot lid, but it 100% is!

I'm going with turbo being short for turbocharged :D

Maybe I should put another one on the other side of the BMW roundel...

I think it should say

‘Light Pressure, Fast Spool Twin Turbo’. :tumbleweed:

That will take it across most of the boot…

 I could just buy a few hundred letters from ebay and write a whole paragraph about the engine. For full accuracy!

Updated to v10 today, no chance to drive it yet though. Turned antilag on as well... I'll never use it but its fun to say I have it

Does XHP just speed up the changes, or are there other benefits?

I don’t use anti lag it’s not very good for the engine..

Altering the throttle response makes it feel a bit snappier..

If you use MHD at stage 2 you really should have xHP set at stage 2 as that increases line pressure on the clutches to avoid slip that the substantial :extra torque throws at the box …

xHP just works so well with MHD…drivability especially when hooning is much improved..

Cheers, I'm only on stage 1 for the foreseeable so perhaps not needed yet.

Anti lag is a bit like launch control for me, fun idea, but not worth the risk/damage of actually using it.
