In slow time: replace oil pressure switch and one of the lambda sensors to resolve codes, replace thermostat so that engine gets up to temperature properly, rear ARB bushes and one drop link (already replaced a broken one). It’s only the front droplinks that are stopping me driving the car, so by the end of the week next on my job list will be to get some summer miles in.

Not a huge amount then! Guessing you have access to a ramp/lift or are you doing all that on axel stands?
Weather seems cooler this year, doesn't feel like we will get many 'summer miles' but guess it saves some fuel costs

Mate, check your dust shields behind the discs, the rattle might be coming from them. Just a thought...

Nope, all doable with a decent jack and stands. A cheap second jack is incredibly helpful to support/raise/lower hubs when the suspension isn’t there to do its job. I’m fortunate to have a decent hardstanding, some guys do these jobs on the street or on gravel drives, which must be hell on the knees.

So update on the rattle/knocking, need to find a suitable test road, but seem to have fixed it based on regular road surface.... was one of the bolts in the steering rack was slightly loose. FWIW it had all the characteristics of worn/dead drop links, but tightening this bolt works out a lot cheaper!! Also tightened the steering up a bit too

New Wiper Blades fiited to the E85 the cheap aero blades I had on the car started getting hardened rubber and didn't clear the screen in parts. Went for some Bosch replacements on ebay Bosch SP21S + SP20S SET. Usual hook fastening and they sit on the screen ok in particular the nearside outer.

Sorted the paint on the Mrs car over the weekend; She’s very happy with the metallic flaring in the sun today
I know the wheels are filthy, but they need a referb so I’m not spending hours cleaning the baked on brake dust off

Looks amazing mate, what is the "official" name of this colour? I scuffed my wheels couple of weeks ago, took it over to get it fixed and repainted but the shop is saying they can't match the existing paint. So I am thinking of redoing the whole lot in a different colour as I am bit bored with the current colour scheme.Jamesgofast wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 4:58 pm Picked up my 108s, refurbished and painted by Simon Ireland, located in Licolnshire.

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.

What have I done...................... just 'what have I done?'
Mrs W is 60 today. Went out to meet an old friend for lunch. I suggested that as 'Project Freeleeta' is more or less complete she could take that to see what she thinks.
After leaving the house in a pall of tyre smoke she eventually returned home to say she wants to keep it and sell her 2.5i auto!
Kind of semi-convinced her she needs to think on it a little more, but I have a feeling there's soon going to be a well fettled Sterling Grey 2.5i auto on the Sales page.
