Another noob here with a beaten up 2004 3.0i SE Roadster. It's been tucked away in the garage for three years having travelled just two miles in that period.
It's just been serviced and MOT'ed and had the central locking fixed, just need to get the electric hood working next.
I've joined this wonderful resource to share and learn more about my car!

Hi and welcome to the forum Simon and well done for saving a neglected Z4. 
There are quite a few threads on reviving seemingly dead roof motors and on relocating them into the boot so they don't get drowned from the roof drains, plus a few forum members who can do both jobs for you if you don't fancy getting cut fingers and scraped knuckles!
