TPMS sensors question.

Post by Stevo1987 » Tue May 31, 2022 3:57 am

I'm currently running on my spare set of wheels that didn't come with TPMS sensors so I'm getting the annoying warning light on start up. So, I need a set of 4 sensors. Please can someone let me know the best place to purchase these. I assume the tyre has to come off? Also, is there any coding needed when the sensors are fitted or is it 'Plug and Play'? I have an mot coming up so I guess I need to get this sorted ASAP.
Thanks....

TPMS sensors question.

Hi Steve,
The tyres will need to come off as they fit inside. Not sure about genuine ones, but a few years back I had a Fiesta with them on and one broke.
KwikFit in Thetford fitted a new one and had a clever gizmo that coded it to the other ones and to the car. So I'd assume they could do that for yours?

TPMS sensors question.

Morning Steve, this is the guy I bought mine from. Brand new, genuine BMW parts and great to deal with. I dropped him a message before purchase to ensure they were the correct ones and he was great to deal with and quick to respond.

You may get away with breaking the bead and installing. Mine were going on new wheels so I didn’t have that problem. No coding just sync TMPS when the wheels are back on in my case

    That's a much better solution.
