Shropshire/Mid-North Wales meet

I used to organise the routes for Triumph motorcycles on their days out in the Shropshire/Mid-North Wales area (when they had regional clubs). Anyone fancy a day out in aforesaid area. I know the routes, good stops, scenic views etc and could plan a day with a coffee stop, lunch and perhaps a glimpse of the sea as well.

Thought a 9.00 start and maybe a weekday so we miss the weekend numpties.

Maybe - I'm based in Stafford and happy to do a weekday. I might not make 9am, though, as I'm not much of a morning person so I could end up joining you at the coffee stop!

I'm very slowly working through a photography course so interested in any scenic stops en route

I could do this during a home visit to the Welshpool / Oswestry area, so yes, I'm interested.

Here's a proposed itinerary on a date before the schools break up

Proposed outline itinerary and suggested date Wednesday July 6

Bridgnorth 09.00 depart from the fairly small Sainsbury’s where they have facilities. No coffee but loos and the chance to stock up on any ‘consumables’

Depart and travel through the beautiful Clun valley to Knighton and then through Crossgates to the Elan Valley Visitor centre
61 miles – coffee stop 10.30 ish
Have a look around and head to the top of the dam before you go for some pics

Leave 11.15 ish and take the coast road via Aberdyfi to Tywyn railway. Beautiful coastal route…….
51 miles – lunch stop 12.45 ish
Chance to linger at the historic rail station

Leave at 13.45 ish
Travel the scenic route via Trawsfyndd and Bala and then over the top to Lake Vyrnwy. Amazing views but with a single track road with passing places!
60 miles – tea stop 15.15 ish

Depart around 16.00 and it’s 25 miles to the A5 at Oswestry where you can head North, South or wherever.

All locations are good for parking up a group of Z4's!

I was just waiting to see if there was any more response. I think this should be a go ahead even if only a few cars. So let's put this date in the diary and I'll knock together an itinerary over the next day or so. Wednesday July 6 8.45 meet for a 9.00 depart latest.
