Chirping noise when car is moving a at slow speed
This noise seems to be intermittent and it is definitely happening more often now. It only seems to happen at lower speeds. I think its coming from the front drivers side wheel.
The noise seems to stop when I apply the brakes. Also, once I go over around 20mph.
Your expert thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you

Possibly a sticking calliper?
Check if it's any hotter after a run. Also whether that wheel gets dustier.

Something stuck in the brake, maybe a small stick or a leaf.

Thanks gents.
@enuff_zed when you say to check if it's any hotter. Do you mean in comparison to the others?
To me the noise sounds like something needs lubricating. I was thinking maybe the caliper pins needs regreasing. Any chance that could be causing it?

Could the disc be very slightly warped causing on off rubbing sound at slow speed that disappears as you speed up?

I don't think it's the disc at fault. Only bcos the noise seems to go away as soon as I apply the brakes. Even if applied gently. So the car is still rolling. If it was the disc I assume the noise would continue as long as the disc is spinning?

I don’t know but I remember having a car a few years ago that had a similar problem. Touching the brakes gently stopped the noise, I think from memory one calliper was sticky and it rubbed on the disc on and off. Going faster made the noise ‘go away’.

Thanks Mikey.
So I have taken the wheel off and I can hear a rubbing noise. It's definitely not spinning freely. Think I'm going to have to take the caliper apart. The search for a discounted Halfords tool kit continues

I had something similar and I traced to the brake pads rattling in the calliper.
To fix it, I took the calliper spring off and bent it so that it would apply more pressure to the calliper and calliper carrier.. It seems to have worked as all I have now is the noise of the tyres on the road.
Hope this helps

Yes in comparison to the one the other side.
Spin the wheel and get someone to apply the brake, then see if it is easy to start spinning again.
Compare with the other wheel too.
If it's the calliper sticking then in all likelihood you'll need a new one, but first go down the route of cleaning the sliding pins, lightly greasing them and also the ridges on the carrier that the pads move on.

How often is the brake fluid getting changed?
Could be suspension related possibly too. Either brakes or suspension.

Now that would be an awesome invention!
Brake fluid that chirps when it gets old.
