I had a Pirelli run-flat repaired on my 1 Series and got another 11,000 miles out of it with no issues.
The biggest challenge seems to be finding somewhere that will repair a run-flat rather than insisting they need to sell you a new one!

I thought you couldn't (or not recommended) repair punctures on runflats? 'the reinforced design and structure of a run flat makes it extremely difficult to tell whether there's secondary damage and the internal structure has been compromised'

The big tyre outlets don’t repair runflats but my local tyre bloke does: he told me that he can see evidence if the runflat facility has been used and of course the normal puncture location rules apply.

Yup. As per title. Luckily was smack bang in the middle so had it repaired. I know some are against repairs, but a new tyre after just 3,000 miles hurts!

I think the problems arise if the tyre has been run flat - the insides tend to delaminate.
Mine only got a puncture a few miles from home and still had 1.5 Bar pressure when I checked it. Before I took it for the repair I inflated it slightly above normal and as it was only 5 or 6 miles to the tyre place it still had plenty of pressure when I got there.
And like buzy I went to a local independent tyre place - got it repaired for a tenner.
