Intermittent indicator problem

Post by IRD » Sun May 15, 2022 8:20 pm

Both right and left indicators work fine when you first use them. However, if you keep them on eg when you are sitting at traffic lights waiting to turn. The audible (tik tok) sound stops. The indicators themselves continue to flash and the little green arrow on the dashboard keeps flashing. It is just the sound that stops. Moving the steering wheel will sometimes start the sound again.
Any suggestions as to solution much appreciated.

Well I suppose I could join the majority here in Lincolnshire and use hand signals.😉

I know on older motors it was the relay that made the noise, but as yours are still working then maybe its a separate noise generator?
Have a google for the relay and see if Stuart can swap that out first.

I was mulling this over last night

I wonder if the sound comes from the dash clock area- that’s where the warning beeper is for the seatbelt warning etc

Thanks Martin. I like to set Stuart a challenge.
