Carpet cleaning advice

Post by Z4hid » Sun May 15, 2022 8:59 am

Hi All,

I took the carpets out of the Z, used some APC with a brush attachment on the drill and then jet washed them.
I left them to dry naturally and although they look much cleaner, they have lost some of their softness as the carpet fibres are quite stiff.

Is there anything I can do to restore the soft feeling?

Thanks
Z

Bit of a guess, but in the same way that when you hang towels out to dry and they turn to cardboard & scratchy, possibly the carpet drying naturally has had the same effect.

On the basis that chucking ‘cardboard towels’ in the tumble dryer for 5 mins softens them and makes then nice again…. I’d try heat, maybe a hair dryer on full pelt? I have a pet dryer that I use to blow dry the car, but I’m miles from you so can’t help out, sorry.

That’s very kind - thank you for offering help with the pet dryer.
I’ll try the hair dryer trick as the logic is sound.

Thanks!
