Date / Time stamps

Post by WJord » Wed Sep 29, 2021 4:07 pm

Hi all,

Is there any way to enable date / time stamps for comments and threads?

Apologies if I’ve missed an obvious way of doing this, it would be useful to see when a thread was created and commented on.

Thanks in advance!

I can always see the date and time to the right of the posters name, plus when I look at the board index it shows me when each thread was last commented on.
What else is it you're trying to see?

I am using a laptop. Is it different on a mobile maybe?

Hi - yes that is pretty much exactly what I am trying to see, hopefully the image below shows what I am referring to, I can’t see any dates or times on mobile or laptop. I’ve tried to change the time format in settings to see if that made any difference, but seemingly none.

Ah, well that's weird. I've never had to adjust any settings, but I'll have a rummage in my profile and see what there is.

Righto,
Top right corner, click on your name: select user control panel: click on Board Preferences.
On mine it says:
Time Zone: UTC +1
Europe/London
Then set 'My Date Format'

See if that works

You’re a star enuff_zedd, I’d set the time format but must have glossed over the date format. :headbang:

It’s been a long day, thanks again!

I was having the same issue as a new member and wondering how can a forum not support date stamps. Lol.

I ran into the fix by coincidence when I was trying to update my profile. For some reason the default "custom" date setting was selected and broken (seems like default selection for new accounts). That fixed it.

I was also about to ask about this. I seemed to get the date/time on my phone but not windows. Changing the date/time settings in my profile means I can now see the date/time of posts. Thanks enuff_zed !
