Black Trim

Post by Benderloch » Sun Apr 24, 2022 4:00 pm

Hi All
I hate it if the black trim on my E86 is not properly black. I've used a number of products over the years, however I have never managed to be successful with the trim above the door windows.

I think this is a different material from the rest. Anyone had any success keeping this black for more than a few days.

Thanks.

No experience with this particular trim, but Gtechniq’s C4 has proven to restore black trim well and does not fade as many other products do.

I can second that - used C4 years ago and it done a better job than just about anything else at the time.

I currently use AG vinyl+trim restorer but I've got a few - just got carpro perl which has a helluva reputation in the detailing world though I've yet to actually try it.

Thanks both. I’ve tried C4 and it’s great for everything apart from this particular trim above the door windows. I’ll have a look at the other suggestions

Cheers.

Hi
Try Autoglym Bumper Care it is a green gel I used to use it on my Brooklands Capri a few years back with every kind of black trim - bumpers , corner plastic mouldings , wiper arms even rubber mud flaps all came up like new .

I hope this helps
