Ah those that criticize, the OP asked for suggestions on a quieter tyre than the Potenza's, he did not ask for the quietest possible tyre, ergo the SportContact 7's are certainly a few decibels quieter than what he is currently running
I'm not criticising anyone. Just offering my opinion/advice based on my experience with this tyre. If that's useful to the OP then great, if not he can disregard it, apologies if it offended you.

Help - new wheels and tires?

Haha opened a can rubber worms have I…?

I’m certainly not gonna to be taking it to a track anytime soon, just the hills of Scotland.

Would imagine anything would be quieter than the run flats.

Of course I want the best of both worlds grip, comfort, quiet.

Appreciate the feedback gents!

Ive just replaced my rear 255-18-35 michelin ps4s tyres with goodyear supersports which just came 2nd in the evo performance tyre of the year award, pilot sports came 5th, my initial impressions are great and they also look great, theyre a notch up from the also impressive Goodyear asyms that also get broadly good reviews.

So looks like I’m gonna get the wheels refurbished and powder coated and fit a set Michelin pilot sport 5.

Don't you just love how the world can make everything so complicated?

When you have wheels measured in imperial inches and tyres in metric mm, no wonder it gets confusing.

My 'rule of thumb' for tyres widths is 30-40mm wider than the width of the wheel (which of course is in inches).

The number 25.4 is key. 25.4mm to an inch!

Don't even start with the offsets! :?

www.willtheyfit.com is great fun to play with.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
