Floaty front end on motorways after tyre change
Hi, I recently replaced the stock RFT’s with Non RFT GY Asymmetric 5’s all round. I’ve noticed the car feels more floaty on motorways than before which is disappointing. I’ve read some post that suggest I need to let the new tyres bed in? Is it really just a case of being patient? If so how many miles? Or could the alignment be an issue even though just fitted?
Is straight line ‘floatiness’ (feels like driving in a gusty wind, doesn’t feel like tramlining) a characteristic of the Z when stock, as I have noticed it before, or should it feel planted when accelerating on the motorway?
TIA.

Hi, Whatever the tyre fitters set when they fitted.
What would you recommend and I’ll compare / adjust and report back.
Thanks!

Most people reduce pressures compared to the runflat pressures, i run 32f 34r - lots of info on here if you use the search function.KryStallone wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 12:58 am Hi, Whatever the tyre fitters set when they fitted.

you do often need to let tyres bed in a bit too... should be performing optimally after about 200 miles i'd say.

All sorted. Numb nuts at the tyre garage massively over inflated the tyres!!

“Numb nuts” you don’t hear / see that quoted anywhere near enough…KryStallone wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 12:51 am All sorted. Numb nuts at the tyre garage massively over inflated the tyres!!

When we got my wifes E89 it had potenzas on the front and new Landsails on the rear. The car was F'ing dangerous. Swapped the wheels round front to back to test and it was like a different car. So the landsails went.
Hopefully this isn't the same problem for you!
