Ooooops managed to post my newbie post on someone else's account? Anyway.....

Hi everyone! BMW Z4 newbie here from Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire. Chopped in an Audi TT on Sunday for a 2020 20i with 2k miles on the clock. Picked it up from Marshalls BMW in Bournemouth. Getting to grips with the technology and software updates etc. Really enjoying the drive but I wish I could switch off the stop start feature permanently without having to get the dongle etc. I’m sure there will be many questions to follow! Mike.

As I said in the other post, Bimmercode will let you either permanently switch it off or have it remember the last setting.

Yes thanks. I got that but I'm trying to justify spending 80 quid to turn off one feature.

It does let you do a few other things.
Or an Indy will turn it off for £30-40.

I think I’m OK for most of the stuff now that I’ve managed to open the boot, it’s just the blessed stop start. You don’t live in Cambs by any chance? 😃

Hello and welcome, lovely looking car.

Re the coding bit. I’m not a great Carly fan because of the annual subscription but I got an email yesterday saying you were getting the OBD11 free and 25% off subscription. I think this feature, along with starting in sports mode, is available through Carly. Current deal is something like £64 for connector and years subscription. 2nd hand OBD11’s do £50+ on eBay etc so you could sell once your subscription expires
