Omega Seamaster 300M Mid-size 2222.80

Post by sars » Sat Nov 13, 2021 8:54 pm

I’ve decided to sell my 2008 Omega Seamaster 300M Mid-Size (36.25 mm) fitted with the Co-Axial calibre 2500 automatic movement. it features a blue, wave-patterned dial with a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The distinctive dial is visible through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a blue unidirectional rotating bezel, stainless steel case, bracelet and of course has the helium-escape valve.

The watch was last serviced in 2015, but still keeps good time, there are a few marks, unsurprisingly given the age, though the condition is pretty good as I’ve tried to indicate in the pictures. It comes with original case, however there is no certificate just the last two service cards.

As for pricing, I’ve seen quite a range between £1,500 and £2,300 but to a forum member I would accept offers over £1,200 I shall be putting it on eBay tomorrow

Thanks DPG, it’s a lovely watch, just don’t wear it much anymore and now that I’ve got the Apple Watch 7 even less

That is the problem I find with watches, I inherited my dad’s collection but never really wear more than 1 or 2 of those.

Do prefer the ones without batteries though as they can be used when you want them, my battery operated ones are all non runners at the moment
Current:
911-50 Black - unique spec
X5M - 575 hp of fun in a V8
Abarth 595 Comp.
Golf Clipper - collectors item
Z4 3.0si Black Sapphire
VW ID.3

Previous:
Z4M Silver Grey - non flimper spec (gone to Bing)
Z4 3.0 Toledo

I bought that one as my winter weekend watch that could then be taken on holiday and worn on the beach, swim in the sea etcetera. It’s was my second Seamaster 300, I did have the reduced quartz variant but I felt that if you are going to have a recognisable Swiss brand why would it be quartz so that’s why I bought this one.

I still have three other good automatic watches, my summer everyday, my subtle/cool evening watch and then a bling evening watch.

Thanks for that Sars - looking forward to trying this on. Had planned on getting the bezel changed unless of course there is an interesting story yo go with the marks on it - left by a moray eel perhaps !
I prefer this size watch and at least it wont stop as did my good friends Apple watch while at the NEC for the classic car show.

Think the bezel will be fine But a service will be a good idea and light Polish

Be sat down when you get the bill to replace the Bezel Mine had a full service and polish and was about £300 and bezel straightened as was ripped off at work

The problem with close and expanded photos is that they bring out every minor detail, you’ll struggle to see some of the marks with the naked eye unless you look really closely and no it’s not been down a sharks gullet or anything exciting :D

Just want to say what a pleasure it was to deal with Sars - watch as described and great care taken to package it.
