E89 TPMS on New Wheels

Post by Jay-Jay » Mon Nov 01, 2021 4:40 pm

Hi all, I'm visiting BM Autosport on Wednesday to replace my current 326M's. I;m going to be getting some BMW 398 wheels which already have TPMS fitted to them, my question is will the TPMS on the new wheels work on my E89 or do I need to get them swapped from my old wheels ?

Hope that makes sense.

Hello, AFAIK, the TPMS will need to be re-initialise through the idrive menu or equivalent.

New tyres should be inflated above 1.6 bar and cold..the system does a variety of checks, if not all ok a check control message will come up
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

Thank you for the reply, wanted to check as that will save me an extra £50 getting them swapped over.
