Which Vanos kit?

Post by Mr_Ke1th » Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:06 pm

Just doing a bit of preventative measures on my e85 and replacing the rocker gasket and thought I’d do the vanos seals too. My cars done 78k and with no signs of rattles or lack of performance- what x8r kit should I go for?

I’m on my sixth vanos refresh today

I always use the most expensive kit as it has all gaskets, seals etc and the rocker covers- great quality.

I read that the 3.0 has the highest propensity for the rattle rings and bearing renewal

Use the code valued for 10% off too

Can’t fault them

Same as Stuart, I use the X8R Kit 0166, plus the 'VALUED' code it came in at £137.48 when I bought my last one in September.
Has the DISA been done?
If not, it's worth considering it. X8R do kits for those too and you can used that code as many times as you need to.

I did the 2.2i a couple of weeks back with my 9-y-o apprentice from over the road.
Young Edward looks at me and says "Seriously? We've taken the whole engine apart just to do those couple of seals and now we have to put it all together again?"
