With the Z4, you have a choice of 6 colours on the Sport, 4 on the M Sport and 5 on the M models. Does seem odd.
I used to have two boys and a girl. Now I have two Men and a Woman.

I visited Munich factory and it was quite interesting to see cars being painted by robots. They are certainly done in batches. There were "shelves" were cars, or rather empty shells, were sitting and waiting for further production process.
Were is Z4 produced? Internet says Graz, Austria.

Yes its in austria, by a non bmw factory, i think they even switch out between supra and z4 every (few?) week(s).
I'm guessing that is the reason why they only have a few colors.
I'm sure if you insist and throw enough money at it, you can still get them in any color you like

I know my dealership does a lot of custom work too.Big Bad Boris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:36 pmArgyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:18 pmWouldn’t do it for me for the £5k individual paint charge when I asked recently

The salesman told me about them customizing a car for a woman who made handbags, to use the same leather for the seats in the cars as she used on the bags.
I think even the pink would have been an option too there, but I didn't think to ask them about it when I ordered mine, got it wrapped instead

I know you’ll find this hard to believe but I’d drive that colour, as long as it had black seatsBig Bad Boris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:36 pmArgyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:18 pmWouldn’t do it for me for the £5k individual paint charge when I asked recently

Maybe individual dealers will do custom work but neither BMW or the dealer I used so it was a choice of stock colours.raven wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:07 pmI know my dealership does a lot of custom work too.Big Bad Boris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:36 pmArgyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 3:18 pm Wouldn’t do it for me for the £5k individual paint charge when I asked recently

We did toy with getting a matte wrap on the Misano but decided not to on cost alone, we didn’t feel it was worth it for us.

yeah its expensive, and you always have the risk of getting some cutmarks, i went to the most known company here, and still ended up with several cutting marks. (they did paid for the repairs afterwards, but it still sucks that it happened). Went with another company for the current wrap hoping it will be better when I remove this wrap. I'm not sure if I would do it again if I could start over.Argyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:47 pm We did toy with getting a matte wrap on the Misano but decided not to on cost alone, we didn’t feel it was worth it for us.
I'm Currently investigating a new kind of plasti-dip, its mixed with regular paint but still removable, and they can do all finishes and colors, and it is cheaper than my current wrap.
https://www.p1coatings.com/ its a Belgian company, but I think they will likely have similar stuff in other countries, I know in the US they have "dip your car" which looks very similar.
But I don't know if I'll do that yet, might just go for a regular paint job eventually, I'm planning on keeping the car as long as possible, so resale value and keeping it original doesn't really matter

If I knew for certain mine was a keeper for 20yrs then I’d strip it and have it painted mineral grey.
There was a frozen grey one parked in Padstow recently for a week and it did look very nice….my ocd likes a shine though…

A few of the mock ups you did in green and dark red looked very nice
It’s funny how we’ve al mentioned mineral grey as a choice we’d take if it’d been available

Porsche are doing an Aventurine green, pretty nice colour, would suit the G29 I think.
