I'm going to be selling - but how much for?
I've decided to sell my Z4 Coupe. Lots of you will know the car as I've been fairly active on here for 5 years. The truth is, I just don't get the time to drive it, and when we go out for the day in one car we tend to take the Roadster. It's too much of a garage ornament for me and really someone should enjoy it for what it is....a driving machine.
I'll still be active on here as I'm going to share the Roadster with the Mrs as since we've had that for the last 12 months I've really found a love of the convertible life.
I'm going to get a couple of the niggles sorted before I list. It's just ticked over 52k, FSH, 2 owners, new brakes and discs, water pump is getting dome next week as a precautionary for a new buyer, good tread on the tyres, more or less 12 months MOT, only mods really are CSL reps, long-life stainless steel backbox and its had the Royals treatment.
So, what are your thoughts on the price? I regularly look on AT to see what's about and prices seem to be at a high atm, that said I would rather it went to a forum member (so appreciate AT isn't a good benchmark for valuation)

As you've seen on Autotrader.....
Around 50 - 60k miles £14,100 - 14,950 at the moment.
Have a look and see what the prices are on here for the hatchbacks.
If you price it too high you'll maybe not get a response. Too low and it'll be test pilots and tyre kickers!
Wouldn't even bother with the water pump at the moment.

Seems high that...don't think it would get much interest on here at that price. Orginal thoughts were to list around £12.5k, but was thinking that might be even too high.skelters wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 8:56 pm As you've seen on Autotrader.....

Have said it a few times, start at what you think is right, so £12.5, you can come down or people can make offers - hard to go up and you will soon lose out if you advertise at at £10k and it sells in 3 days.

£13k with some wiggle room would be my mark. Its a fantastic looking car especially with the CSL reps.

Sad you are feeling the need to sell, but I can see why given Mrs idej also has a Z4.
Maybe sell hers too and get a Z4MR?
But as far as your E86 goes I don't think 12/12.5K would be greedy based on this recent advert for a higher mileage example that has sold:-

Good luck anyway.

I bought my E86 on 57k around feb time if memory serves right. Paid a touch over £11k
I didn't realise at the time, but it seems i found a very honest car which has ALL the extras! Except no sat nav (which actually seems to be a preferred option now), but has heated sports seats, MFSW, cruise control, speaker system behind the seats, M-spec suspension (it is a sport rather than SE tbf) hardly any paint issues, just a dent in the passenger door which cost £60 to get removed and a scrape on the underside of the front bumper............... which i think i may have done myself
I have the suspension to refresh yet and have bought brake disks too.
A recent MOT adds at least £300 anyway.
All that being said... it does feel like they are going for slightly more now than back then so £12.5 is prob about right.
Hope that helps somewhat.. and good luck, cant wait to see the photos!

I'm actually thinking we sell the 2.5 as well and get a 3.0si roadster as a joint car...so basically mine.mr.tourette wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:01 am I agree with the above 12.5k seems to be fair given the mileage, condition , extras and the current market, glad you are staying in the z4 family mate

Main reason for keeping the roadster over the coupe!!!Argyll Andy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:24 am Price I’ve no input, I’m just glad to see you’re keeping the right one for your Scottish trips

I have debated it, but I can't justify the ///M tax for how often it will be used. A 3.0si is enough power for me...I still get the fizz when I put my foot down.Mr Tidy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 12:06 am Sad you are feeling the need to sell, but I can see why given Mrs idej also has a Z4.

Nice or a 3.0 e89 for that true coupe/convertible combo perhapsidej_z4 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:28 amI'm actually thinking we sell the 2.5 as well and get a 3.0si roadster as a joint car...so basically mine.mr.tourette wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:01 am I agree with the above 12.5k seems to be fair given the mileage, condition , extras and the current market, glad you are staying in the z4 family mate
