new vanos + no cat = smiles

Post by Sidewaze Samm » Fri May 28, 2021 1:35 pm

Took my lad's zed in yesterday (60k miles 2005 2.5) for a spot of work; vanos seals and secondary cat removal.

Wow! Yes, do it. :D :D
Certainly got more get up and go now. Sounds like it too - not surprising to look at how much a restriction each cat is on exhaust flow.

Think I need to get mine done too - just wish my facelift had secondary cats to delete!

Ooh, I wonder if wifey would like that on hers.
Just to confirm, what effect is the secondary cat deletion likely to have on MOT emissions?

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Apparently none but I dont believe that, why would it be there if it didnt have any effect whatsoever
It at least probably isnt enough to cause an issue with the MOT but thats 3rd hand info :idunno:

I used to do the secondary cat removal on my TVR Chimaeras
The sound is great and they used to feel as they flowed a lot easier
No issues on mot as 1st set still in

Has it made a noticeable difference then? :)
I'm guessing it's a tad louder too
