"Odd" is to be expected when someone is under what must be crippling stress and sorrow, but I take the point about him still actively listing cars for sale. Perhaps he's still going through the motions of making a living without actually being able to deal with what's required of the job under the circumstances? I met him about six years ago when I viewed and test drove a 350Z. He was great. He pointed out the car's weak points, explained the areas of the car he had had sorted at the bodyshop, and explained aspects that a 350Z novice might not be aware of (e.g. tax bands). Sorry to hear that you haven't been able to investigate his MC.
Absolutely, like I said I sympathise with his situation & my heart goes out to him. However for people like me and iggy, who don’t have any previous experience of dealing with him and are simply enquiring about a car, we don’t expect to get our heads bitten off for asking a couple of questions before we part with a considerable sum.

I just find it odd that he snapped at us for asking questions because he doesn’t have time but seems to have time to change pictures, adverts and continue to look for stock. Somethings not adding up from my point of view.

It’s a shame because his reviews online are great but if someone asked me of my experience of that dealer, it’s not going to be glowing.

Mos6689 No, absolutely. A good reputation is one thing, but if your sole experience of someone is negative, their history with other people doesn't change the judgement you've made of that person. You're absolutely right about the money factor - this isn't exactly a £5 tin of paint from B&Q that you're trying to buy! I'd be avoiding him too.

Does anyone know more about the example on autotrader up for just under £11k? It seems to have been on for ages.

Afraid not. The market for 113k mile cars has to be smaller. That might be the only challenge. Looks nice though.
If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

You mean this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 1278400380 ?
Yes, I went to have a look at it... I didn't end up buying it. I don't like rubbishing peoples cars on public pages, but happy for you to PM me if you want more details as to why I passed.

Someone else mentioned the buyer was no longer selling it. When I inquired it I was told it was imported from NI and as such no MOT history was available

He won’t do any viewings for the reasons mentioned on the page before this one. Steer clear, somethings not adding up.

An M with that mileage & spec (strut brace & aero sills!!) should not be hanging around for this long at that price. It’s had price drops as well. Ask too many questions & he abruptly “isn’t able to help you any further.”

I do hope I’m wrong and someone gets a great car! My suspicion is it has next to no history. There’s one from Morgan cars with only 49k miles and one owner. Sounds great and interlagos blue, great colour. Then you enquire and it missed its run in service and after that it’s patchy at best. Don’t think you can compromise on a performance cars history.

There’s a great example coming up soon from a forum member, that I nearly pulled the trigger on but it was just too far out for me & the only other one that compared in terms of history, was 30 miles from home. Someone’s going to be very happy with that though once it comes up.

I contacted that seller about another M he had for sale a little while back and he was equally evasive and unhelpful with that. As you say, something not quite right....

The seller does flip flop on that a lot. He genuinely seems to want to keep the car, but has too many others etc.... I nagged him to go and look at it and he obliged. He is certainly not open to a penny less than the advertised price. He's a nice guy, but not deeply geeky or knowledgable about E85's/Z4M's etc. He just likes to drive it.

I’ve actually been in contact with mark about the M. It’s actually got really good service history, looks a clean car apart from a few stones chips etc, unfortunately he won’t take my Z as a part x at the moment.
