Coilover options - BC Racing vs. Yellow Speed Racing
Any thoughts on BC Racing vs YSR coilovers?
Or any better alternatives?
I need decent camber adjustment and minimal/no inner clearance reduction vs stock as I've got to squeeze 9.5" wheels on the front!
Pricing pretty much the same:
BC Racing BR(RA) - £749
Yellow Speed Racing (Dynamic Pro Sport) - £769

What's your intended usage? I looked at both of these before going Bilstein, personally I figured I'd rather pay a bit more and do the job once rather than *potentially* regret it later going budget. Having said that, a fair amount use BC coils on E46 M3's with relatively positive reviews so if I was going to choose I would go with them, I doubt it would be a bad choice. I've only seen one or two people on here use BC coils on an M and none Yellow Speed so doubt you'll get much real word experience, there is a thread though if you search for it.
If you need decent camber adjustment make sure you get a pair of camber plates otherwise you can go down the shimming route.

ST STX and Vogtland are in the same range but are a KWV1 without the stainless steel....maybe also worth a look.

Thanks, currently my daily driver & the plan is a few road trips. Looking at the Apex fitment guide the Bilstein/KW will reduce the inner clearance & they recommend coilovers with linear springs without helper springs.AndyBeech wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:43 pm What's your intended usage? I think BC is my best bet, the seem to get mostly positive feedback online, have the camber adjustment & inner wheel clearance I need.
The other option is lowering springs & camber plates but if I'm spending that in my head it just makes sense to get the coilovers so I can adjust ride height etc.

I love mine, but be warned: top mounts are noisy and over small consecutive road imperfections they sound like they're knocking.

Will have to get a noisy exhaust to help mask it

The pillowball mounts are noisier than the rubber mounts - I got the latter for that reason.lucasxdiniz wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:49 pm I love mine, but be warned: top mounts are noisy and over small consecutive road imperfections they sound like they're knocking.

They are indeed. Wish people realised that once you solid mount stuff in your car. I wasn't complaining, just warning OP as it is amusing how often I get messaged by people who got BCs as well to ask if mine knocks.wspohn wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 4:02 pmThe pillowball mounts are noisier than the rubber mounts - I got the latter for that reason.lucasxdiniz wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:49 pm I love mine, but be warned: top mounts are noisy and over small consecutive road imperfections they sound like they're knocking.
Also wasn't aware you could get rubber mounts for BCs. Who makes those?

MY BC shocks came straight from Taiwan to Canada. At that time the pillowball mounts were a cost plus option. Possibly need to specify that today assuming that they still deliver either way.
