They Dyno at 280bhp and are running 4.7 to 60 and low13s 1/4 mile so as quick a z4m. Perfect damping for uk roads. Light and Chuck able. Also uniquely for a modern car, they feel rapid, in part to the lovely short hearing meaning you can enjoy a few more heel and toe moments. I've picked up a cancelled order for march, with cars going 5k over RRP secondhand I've done the man maths and taken the plunged. 2021 allocation is soldout. A mini/faster focus RS and I loved that and haven't fallen in love with my z4m for some reason.
Current - Z4M Coupe, Ruby Black, Extended amarone, Copper bronze 224s, Eventuri carbon intake, BC Racing Coilovers, OEM strut brace, top spec including digital TV 8)

brillomaster wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:29 pm there are multiple measures for a car weight, and no industry standard...

you've got dry weight - no fuel, no oil, no coolant, no screenwash
you got slightly wetter weight - no fuel, but ready to go with oil and coolant and screenwash (+10-20kgs)
then theres that weight, plus either half a tank of fuel, or a full tank of fuel (+30-70kgs)

a lot of the lardier car manufacturers often quote dry weight, no fluids. i think porsche are a relative exception in that they quote wet weight, with half a tank of fuel or something.

theres also the weight of optional extras, which may or may not be included.
Probs worth a read up on the new regs. They're much tighter now on weight declared for emissions testing and it's the reason new cars are being offered with less options and more 'packs'. So the weight for the Yaris aught to be pretty accurate and includes driver weight, so it's really 1220ish kg wet.

I'm still intending to downsize from my M135i as I barely use it (it's on c. 19k miles at over four years old) and I don't need its space or performance. I thought Toyota would struggle to sell the GR but when I watched Jay Emm's video he suggested that virtually all the order slots for next year were taken. I'm still hoping for a discounted one in 12 to 18 months' time!

Thoughts?
My mate just got one in December, sold his heavily modified Audi rs3 saloon, that had over 500bhp,that he had from new and was only 18 months old when he sold it,and he loves his Yaris gr. as you its replacement.+even if there is a noteably slower 0-69 time with the gr Yaris(5.5s,compared to 3.77 in his rs3 saloon).
It's mental, but his was specced upto around 35k,which is Crazy for a Yaris, but it will probably be a collector car for some.
His wife wasn't happy when he came home with it though, haha

Quite expensive servicing by all accounts (for a Yaris)

6k miles or 12months (£175 minor £375 major and a £50 safety inspection every 6 months unless done at the same time as a service)

But I suppose it is a rally car.

Do you have a link for a source that shows what the safety inspection involves, please? I'm really curious. I did a very quick Google and nothing jumped out at me. TIA.

On my travels I did notice that the thread on the GR Yaris on Pistonheads runs to hundreds of pages :o

Beedub, congrats! What colour and will you wrap it?

FYI, Jonny Smith said on his podcast that Toyota told him they'd just build more if the car was popular.

Pity to hear you haven't gelled with your z4m, especially as it was such a bargain, and had some nice stuff done to it.

Haven't been out in my mates gr Yaris yet,due to Pandemic, but hopefully I will soon.
    He loves it though :driving:
