I got a magpie wedged in the same area on my 335 - it took some dragging to get it out.

OP. Just a word of warning in case you were looking into claiming on your insurance.
I had a similar thing a few years ago. A pheasant ran out and broke a (£900!) headlight on my E class.
I rang the insurance company to see if it was worth me claiming. I didn't claim and paid for the repair but the insurance company logged it on the insurance database as "an incident". My premiums went up by 15% for the next 3 years AND I paid for the repair! They wouldn't take it off the database, either even though I argued that it was never a claim.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I had this but on home insurance when a kitchen worktop blew. It would have needed 4 bits replacing due to location. Never went ahead and like you phoning round the following year and it had been logged as a claim.

I lost my TTS in really bad snow a couple of years ago. Only my vehicle involved but needed a new Matrix LED headlight and clamshell bonnet plus painting and buffing. Total claim was for about £4,500. Claimed off insurance and premium went up by £20 the next year. I then changed to the Z4 and premium has gone down by £70.

Insurance is a mystery to me. My 19YO son wrote his car off in a knock-for-knock accident on a country lane - a 2 and a half year old Hyundai i10. The insurance paid out fairly, and he decided to add some funds to upgrade to a nearly new Fiesta - and his insurance was £200 less with the same firm.

Sorted. They managed to repair it. I can’t tell where they have been so I’m happy. 😀
