As said above all BMW cars these days are just way to fussy at the front end and another vote on the Green

Whoever designer the M performance exhaust design needs firing immediately....it's shockingly bad.

The 4 door always looks better I think. The squared off rear emphasises the arch flare.
Really hate the coupes the rears look stretched out and the lights also just don't look right. They haven't got it right since the E46 imo but the 4 doors have that same design essence.
Unfortunately for the design evolution of the E92 was for a successful American market and because it appealed to the Americans the Chinese jumped on it and now these grill designs are aimed squarely at those markets.
But then people buy it.... there are thousands of current M3/M4s in Manchester two a penny and they all sound like lawn mowers.

All i6’s sound s**t , even the fabled S54
I have never heard a Z4M and thought, “ oh yes, that sounds great”
Have I done that with a C63, V10 Audi or even some old Anerican muscle ?
Most definitely

I didn't like the grilles at first, but like others, they have grown on me.
Still not 100%,tbh.
The larger 7 series has a terrible grilleway too big,and why copy Audi?

Trying too hard, bloody awful looking! Not as bad as the new 2 series though, it looks like an A class!

Agreed on the aesthetics point of the saloon being better proportioned than the coupe but not so much on the sound comment. Imo they only sound like lawnmowers on YouTube.tomscott wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 1:31 pm The 4 door always looks better I think. The squared off rear emphasises the arch flare.

The standard non Comp Pack cars don’t sound great but the exhaust that came on Comp Pack cars rectified this somewhat.
Also by simply swapping out the OE system for a good quality aftermarket exhaust system can make them sound pretty good. Have heard a few, but the Akrapovic under load at full chat sounds mental on S55 cars. The only drawback to this is the cost...but can be more feasible if bought used (and sold on for same money) than bought new.

I want an E46 M3. That is the last one I liked and still like now.
Project car is either an E46 or an E85 when I have a garage sorted

I am going to be different from the herd and say I like them even that divisive front end. Are they elegant the way our E89s are or the E46 is? nope but they are still interesting none the less.
On film or in photos the new 4 series face doesn't look so good but I have now seen a couple in the flesh and they definitely look way better in reality also the grill is better integrated into the bumper on the M3 and M4 than it is on the standard 4 series. If I was in the market for that category of cars, I would take the M3 in Cayman Green (I think that's what it is called) with tan seats and gold wheels and carbon fiber pack without hesitation.
